Narratives articulated by political leaders, as constructors of reality, are often employed to justify actions against other states. In this regard, the foreign policy of Donald Trump’s second term was profoundly influenced by language and narrative. This study addresses the following question: What role did the narrative pattern play in advancing Trump’s foreign policy military doctrine toward Iran and Venezuela? The purpose of this research is to examine Trump’s narrative field as a strategy for generating pressure, constructing threats, and legitimizing intervention against these two countries. Employing a qualitative approach and documentary analysis of Trump’s statements, the study demonstrates that Trump’s narrative field, through emphasizing the failure of diplomacy, followed a fixed and recurring discursive pattern centered on the Hegemonization of military action as the “only solution.” The ultimate objective of this pattern was to legitimize the idea of resorting to force and the overthrow or transformation of the political systems of Iran and Venezuela. The findings indicate that, unlike Venezuela, fundamental structural differences make state collapse or regime change in Iran highly unlikely.
