The ISJ Board of Associates

The ISJ Board of Associates

ISJ intends to create a Board of Associates. It therefore accepts Board of Associates members, according to conditions.

Eligibility

Associates will be selected from the following areas and disciplines: International Law, International Relations, Political Science, Economic, History, and Social Sciences.

Associate positions are available for experts like professors, scholars, and practitioners, together with PhDs and post-graduate students. Preference will be given to those who are well known in their country of residence and around the world.

Applicants must have professional proficiency in English and be familiar with French.

Note that information about the positions as associates can be accessed via the online system of the International Studies Journal (ISJ) in Tehran.

Ethics Stipulation

While there is no expectation of permanent or temporary employment on behalf of members of the Board of Associates, ISJ has a good character requirement.

In particular, lack of respect for the academic rules of ISJ will lead to termination and subsequent disqualification from the Board of Associates.

Purpose of the Board of Associates

The relationship between ISJ and the associates is based on the following benefits and advantages i) the ISJ as a research network, which can help facilitate research collaboration across geographical boundaries; ii) the ISJ is a scholarly outlet that has a strong international representation on its editorial and advisory boards and it therefore promotes inter-cultural dialogue in a very unique fashion – and based directly on mutual stakes in peace and human rights; iii) the ISJ offers ongoing opportunities to influence the future of international law and international relations viewed as an interdisciplinary field, e.g., through activities, initiatives and events under the auspices of the ISJ as a journal that is registered as an NGO (since 2019), International Studies and Global Dialogue Foundation"/"Fondation Internationale sur les Dialogues et les Etudes Mondiales" (FIDEM), Paris, France.

To secure their stakeholder participation, associates are also welcome to present their ideas for the purpose of ISJ policy making.

The profiles ISJ’s associates are featured on the ISJ’s website, in a designated “Board of Associates” member category. This secures their scholarly visibility.

The articles submitted by associate members will be guaranteed publication immediately following the acceptance of these. Furthermore, their ISJ subscription is offered at a 20 percent discount. To secure their stakeholder participation, associates are also welcome to present their ideas for the policy making of ISJ.

Term Durations

Associates may serve between one year and up to a five-year term. At the end of their term, the profiles of the respective associates will be removed from the website unless they choose to renew or extend their membership period.
