Aims and Scope

The purpose of the International Studies Journal (ISJ) is to assist research and publication of political articles with an international approach which deals with extensive research on regional and global policy issues.

1. Although we have internationalized the compositions of editorial board and advisors of the journal,

the first prerequisite for cooperation and gathering of each colleagues of the journal is their attachments to the territory, religion, custom, culture, art, values and territorial beliefs in which they belong to. In this direction, the journal utilizes the cooperation of some well- known professors and lecturers who are active in international arenas and have deep beliefs in their cultural and civilization achievements.

2. The main focus of the journal is on texts that are capable of being presented internationally. Although the country's special affairs have been addressed in each issue, but each of these articles is also a topic of debate within the international community.

3. Since the journal’s articles deal with international and domestic issues, it tries to present fresh and up to date articles which are proportional with the country’s as well as international community’s necessities.

4. Policy making in dealing with fundamental and theoretical issues. In this regard, subjects such as human rights, women rights, good governance, and transitional justice, ethical values in international relations, international criminal court, terrorism and weapons of mass destruction will be the focus of international community’s attention.

5. Dealing with human rights issues is the main focus of the journal. The subject of human rights is the specialty of members of the Council of Writers and the journal’s International Scientific Advisers. Most texts of each issue contain human rights articles.

6. Avoiding evaluations and normative judgment, considering the country’s challenges as well as regional and international ones, we have tried to select articles which have based their contents on Scientific and Research Criteria.

7. Encouraging and engaging the country’s academia to evaluate well-known and reputable university professors abroad by presenting both parties views in the form of articles and reviews.

8. Encouraging multi-language writings by printing articles in Persian, English and French.

9. Delivering accurate and timely information. Despite limited financial and human resources, informing the academic centers is an important goal of the journal.

10. Analyzing and reviewing journal feedbacks after publications and reflecting on the strategies and criticism presented. Now after scientific efforts of academic colleagues, the ISJ has found special audiences inside and outside of the country and has entered into collaboration with well-known international universities together with international organizations including: The International Committee of the Red Cross, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, NAM (Non-Allied-Movements), university of Pennsylvania, the European Union University in Florence and the united nations. It has also been recognized as a prestigious journal by reputable external authoritative universities and has received good and valuable articles from university professors inside and outside of the country, encourages young students, scholars, doctoral students of international law and political science to write valuable articles in order to be under the guidance of the country's executive and scientific institutions. All of these achievements are rooted in the great help from friends and colleagues who have seen the production of the journal just only as part of the country’s scientific efforts. This is my duty to thank them all and I am completely sure that each of them has a significant share in scientific research of the country.
