Abstract
This research aims at comparative analysis of the contents of three websites of PressTV, BBC, and CNN on Islamophobia as one of the important issues of the recent decade of the international news media that not only has political and promotional aspects but also has led to numerous challenges in the social and economic arenas between the western societies and Islamic world. The extensive propaganda of the western mass media against Islam after the events of September 11, 2001 has led to hatred and hostility of the West with the Muslims. To this end, the authors try to study the role of CNN, BBC, and PressTV in the phenomenon of Islamophobia within two weeks before and after the events of September 11, 2010 through analyzing the contents of these three news website. The findings reveal that there is a meaningful difference among these three websites in regard to the type of their positioning towards Islamophobia. Despite the fact that BBC and CNN websites have supported Islamophobia by professional methods and have made extensive propaganda in this connection, PressTV website announced the Islamophobia phenomenon as a defined project of the West against Islam in order to drive up the public opinion against Islam. PressTV website, on the other hand, tries to confront with CNN and BBC news in relation to the relationship of Islam with the adverse international events such as terrorism and conflict of Islam and the international peace.
