Widespread social and cultural developments of the two last decades of the twentieth century and the two first decades of the twenty-first century have led to emergence of a new concept of cultural diversity and arguments about the reformulation of concepts like the self and identity, and their social, cultural, political and even economic consequences. Among them is the importance of the existing ‘differences’ amongst citizens. Unlike the modern conception of democratic citizenship which id mostly concerned with the equality of people with respect to rights and duties, the postmodern conception emphasizes their right to be different through recognizing those differences. To choose different lifestyles, following different life patterns and the realization of their own ideal of the good life, is now recognized as certain rights for citizens and certain duties required from states. In what follows, after a short review of the historical development of the concept of citizenship in the West, its postmodern interpretation will be described and, finally, some suggestions for theorizing this more recent understanding of citizen’s right within contemporary Islamic tradition of thought will be offered سابقه‌ی حقوق شهروندی را شاید بتوان به نخستین مراحل شکل‌گیری دولت- شهرها در گذشته‌های دور باز گرداند. تحولات اجتماعی و فرهنگی گسترده در دو دهه‌ی پایانی قرن بیستم و دو دهه‌ی آغازین قرن بیست و یکم، به پیدایش مفهوم چندگانگی فرهنگی منجر شد و در پی آن، مباحث متنوعی درباره‌ی ضرورت بازشناخت مفاهیمی مانند «خویشتن» و «هویت» و پیامدهای اجتماعی، فرهنگی، سیاسی و حتی اقتصادی آن پدید آمد. یکی از محورهای مهم این دسته از مباحث، اهمیتی است که به «تفاوت» هر شهروند با دیگران داده می‌شود. برخلاف مفهوم متجدد شهروندی دمکراتیک که عمدتا به برابری انسان‌ها در حوزه‌ی حق و تکلیف تأکید داشته است، رویکرد پسامتجدد بر بحث «حق تفاوت» با به رسمیت شناخته شدن تفاوت‌های موجود میان شهروندان پافشاری می‌کند. گزینش سبک‌های زندگی مختلف، پیروی از الگوهای زیستی متفاوت و تلاش برای تحقق زندگی ایده‌آل، از یک سو حقوقی برای هر شهروند متصور می‌شود و از سوی دیگر، تکالیفی را برای حکومت‌ها به وجود می‌آورد. در این نوشتار پس از نگاهی گذرا به تحول مفهوم شهروندی در مغرب زمین، به مفهوم پسامتجدد آن اشاره خواهد شد. در پایان، برای یافتن مبانی هستی شناختی به منظور آغاز نظریه پردازی در زمینه‌ی به رسمیت شناختن شدن این حق شهروندی جدید در سپهر معرفت دینی، پیشنهادهایی داده خواهد شد. https://www.isjq.ir/article_93168_581ff1f0d53d18bf7ae4b5952835eb8f.pdf
